Life After the Cross sermon from Acts 2:42-47

Life after the cross wasn’t ‘business as usual.’ They couldn’t go back to the ways that things used to be – not after all they had witnessed and been through with Jesus. The people we refer to now as the early church began to live together with even more intention and purpose. Their actions affected everyone around them as they both gave and received care. Inspired by hope from hearing the early church’s response from Acts 2, I compared this to our own reality in April 2026. How might God be inviting us to respond today? What’s ours to carry, and what belongs to God? What does it take for us to BE and to LIVE as people of faith for ourselves and for others all around us? Watch my latest sermon preached on 19 April 2026 called “Life After the Cross” from Acts 2:42-47 linked below and see how you might respond.

I preached this sermon for my home church were I served as the Connections Pastor. Impact Temple Church, located in Temple, Texas, is about an hour north of Austin and 2 hours south of Dallas/Fort Worth.

Acts 2:42-47 NIV

42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Preaching Tips Background Video

In this video share, I talk about what else was going on in my home church this Sunday when I was preparing to preach. And I talk about how I could see glimpses of how the Acts 2 description of the early church was happening right before our eyes. Finally I share how my sermons are coming to a close as I prepare to move out of Central Texas next month.

May you be blessed!
