Bible Time & Worship Episode 12 – Worship God

Today’s time was worship songs mixed in with the reading of God’s word from 2 Corinthians 4-5 and 1 Peter 1-3. Something a bit different which I hope encourages you to remain steadfast in the Lord. He has preserved for us His word that we may know Him. Keep in prayer the needs of others around the world as we look to God, the reason for our hope. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow God willing at the same time.

2 Corinthians 4:1-6 We proclaim Christ as Lord

‘Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart. But we have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways. We refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God’s word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God. And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. ‘ 2 Corinthians 4:1-6 https://my.bible.com/bible/59/2CO.4.1-6

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 Do not lose heart

‘So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. ‘ 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 https://my.bible.com/bible/59/2CO.4.16-18

2 Corinthians 5:6-11 Walk by Faith and not by Sight focusing only on the circumstances around us

‘So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil. Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade others. But what we are is known to God, and I hope it is known also to your conscience. ‘ 2 Corinthians 5:6-11 https://my.bible.com/bible/59/2CO.5.6-11

2 Corinthians 5:14-15 We live for Jesus

‘For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised. ‘ 2 Corinthians 5:14-15 https://my.bible.com/bible/59/2CO.5.14-15

2 Corinthians 5:17-21 We are made new through Christ; let’s share this through our actions

‘Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. ‘ 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 https://my.bible.com/bible/59/2CO.5.17-21

1 Peter 1:3-9 We are born again; Our faith is refined

‘Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls. ‘ 1 Peter 1:3-9 https://my.bible.com/bible/59/1PE.1.3-9

1 Peter 2:9-10 You are chosen by God

‘But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. ‘ 1 Peter 2:9-10 https://my.bible.com/bible/59/1PE.2.9-10

1 Peter 2:24 By Jesus’ substitutionary death on the cross, we were made free

‘He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. ‘ 1 Peter 2:24 https://my.bible.com/bible/59/1PE.2.24

1 Peter 3:15 respectfully share truth with others to this watching world

‘but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, ‘ 1 Peter 3:15 https://my.bible.com/bible/59/1PE.3.15

My daughter cleaning up her origami after our Bible time…

Thank you SO MUCH for joining in and praying for us and others around the world. I pray this time encourages you to dig into your Bibles and to seek #truth and the understanding that comes from the Lord. We are in our third week of “no school at school” as everyone continues to go to school online to minimize group gatherings and help prevent the spread of the #coronavirus here in #Daegu, South Korea. I will continue this “Bible Time & Worship” online ministry as long as God gives me the ‘go’ to be used in this way. If so, I plan to be on at noon (Daegu time) via FB every Monday – Friday. Sincerely, Sejana

I think we all have influence and I want to use mine to encourage you to develop your relationship with Christ in ALL AREAS of your life, at ALL TIMES in your life. This blog is written from the Biblical perspective but I'm in love with a man that doesn't currently share my same worldview. I understand the importance of living out what you believe as our actions speak a whole lot more than our words ever will. We have 2 middle school aged children and currently live in South Korea due to the military. I'm an open book, just take a look! Reach out if you have any questions or comments. Nice to meet you!
