Bible time & Worship Episode 3 – Believe God is able

Continuing with Episode 3 of our time together each day. Today’s focus was mostly the reading of God’s Word and encouraging those who have trusted in Christ to hold firm. May we walk in faith because God is Able to do what He has promised. (Watch the video below for details.) The kids are continuing to go to school online and correspond with their teachers and their peers via the internet and not in person due to our restrictions from gathering together in groups. Pray for our children to not be overwhelmed by their assignments for the week and maybe next week too, we shall see. Help me increase my perspective by sharing prayer requests and concerns that impact you from around the world.

Thank you for joining us!
Thank you for joining us! See you tomorrow 12 noon Daegu time

These are the verses that I shared online:

(Everything in purple is the ESV text of the Holy Bible.)

1 Corinthians 2:12-16 these matters are for those who have trusted God

‘For who knows a person’s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual. The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ. ‘ 1 Corinthians 2:11-16 https://my.bible.com/bible/59/1CO.2.11-16

1 CORINTHIANS 3:1-13 God is doing great things

‘But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ. I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready, for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way? For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not being merely human? What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building. According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw— each one’s work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. ‘ 1 Corinthians 3:1-13 https://my.bible.com/bible/59/1CO.3.1-13

Romans 10:9-18 – What is the gospel? It is simple…

‘because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. But I ask, have they not heard? Indeed they have, for “Their voice has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world.”‘ Romans 10:9-18 https://my.bible.com/bible/59/ROM.10.9-18

Romans 4:13-14 it is not by the law that we are saved…

‘For the promise to Abraham and his offspring that he would be heir of the world did not come through the law but through the righteousness of faith. For if it is the adherents of the law who are to be the heirs, faith is null and the promise is void. ‘ Romans 4:13-14 https://my.bible.com/bible/59/ROM.4.13-14

Start reading about Abraham (Abram) in Genesis 12 and beyond.

Romans 4:19-5:11 God is able so walk in faith

‘He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead (since he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah’s womb. No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. That is why his faith was “counted to him as righteousness.” But the words “it was counted to him” were not written for his sake alone, but for ours also. It will be counted to us who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification. ‘ Romans 4:19-25 https://my.bible.com/bible/59/ROM.4.19-25

You can read Hebrews 11 the “Hall of Faith” and go back and find the backstory of all the people mentioned there. https://my.bible.com/bible/59/HEB.11.esv

We can have PEACE & HOPE… read on…

‘Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die—

but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. ‘ Romans 5:1-11 https://my.bible.com/bible/59/ROM.5.1-11

There needs to be a point in your life where you realize that you want a REAL relationship with God when you want to trust God and respond to His offer to be eternally saved. What happens after your earthly death? Where will you spend eternity? You will spend eternity apart from God if you do not believe in Jesus’s death and salvation on the cross for your behalf…. These are not my thoughts but rather God’s. Check it out for yourself. The good thing is that God knew what we would do and from the very beginning He provided a way for us to come back to Him. But I continue speaking to those who have already trusted in Christ – I encourage you to live ready.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-11

‘Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need to have anything written to you. For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief. For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness. So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, are drunk at night. But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation. For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. ‘ 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11 https://my.bible.com/bible/59/1TH.5.1-11

Hebrews 6:10-12 I trust you and have been serving others for you Lord!

‘For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do. And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. ‘ Hebrews 6:10-12 https://my.bible.com/bible/59/HEB.6.10-12

It does not matter my outward circumstances, whether the times seem bad or good, I go to God and I exhort you to do the same. I pray that God would use by whatever means necessary to get the attention of loved ones that refuse to acknowledge Him before it is too late. When circumstances are unknown and our foundation is shaken it is an opportunity to consider and ask where our hope and trust lie. Do we need to remember to come back to our one true hope in God?

Please pray also for those who meet in private because of persecution. I acknowledge that I have so much access to God (here in South Korea and America) and yet we keep missing the point. Lord help us. I pray for those who don’t have all that we have and yet they see the point. You are our focus, not our own selves and our own comforts. I am thankful for those you follow you in every way. When God reveals areas to me that I’ve been holding back from Him, I repent and allow God to shape and change me in that area. What about you?

Continue to message me or comment with your prayer requests or scriptures. I pray this is helpful for you and see you again tomorrow at the same time. Join me each day (we are on restricted gathering directives per the @usagdaegu_area4 leadership team) from #Daegu as we wait on news regarding the #coronavírus #covid19 for a time of #biblestudy and #worship. I #pray that it #encouragesomeone to #trust in the Lord. 🥰🥰🥰 We will simply have a time each day to meet before the Lord together from wherever you are. I will be on at noon (Daegu, Korea time) each day.

I think we all have influence and I want to use mine to encourage you to develop your relationship with Christ in ALL AREAS of your life, at ALL TIMES in your life. This blog is written from the Biblical perspective but I'm in love with a man that doesn't currently share my same worldview. I understand the importance of living out what you believe as our actions speak a whole lot more than our words ever will. We have 2 middle school aged children and currently live in South Korea due to the military. I'm an open book, just take a look! Reach out if you have any questions or comments. Nice to meet you!
