18-month Women in Ministry Mentoring program | BWIM

Applications due by September 15, 2025 for the 2026-2027 cohort.

Now a 18 month intentional mentoring program with a seasoned Baptist minister and a group of peers for Baptist women who have served in their current area of ministry for less than three years and are ministering in churches, chaplaincy, non-profit work, and other “outside-the-box” ministry settings. The most recent Baptist Women In Ministry (BWIM) cohort represented “5 ministry contexts including chaplaincy, congregational ministry, missionary, higher education, and nonprofits. This cohort’s participants are part of 8 different Baptist denominations, and represent 12 states.” Personally, I am grateful to have been a part of the 2021-2023 BWIM Mentoring Cohort in which my small group nurtured my soul as a woman in ministry over our 2 years of meeting together.

Fall CPE (Contemplative Practices & the Enneagram) Theme: 9 Points of Light | Evolving Enneagram

The Fall 2025 session starts the week of Sep 22nd and ends the week of Dec 15th, via Zoom. Apply to join today! I’ve personally been a part of 2 different ‘CPE’ groups with Evolving Enneagram since meeting Rev Nhien Vuong in person for a class in Dallas in early 2024. I appreciate her work and recommend you to check out her materials and give this a try for a season. I’m still participating myself now – ongoing since ‘CPE’ Spring 2024!

“CPE groups are facilitated practice and support groups for those with basic knowledge of the Enneagram who seek to cultivate a discipline of contemplative practice in a compassionate, non-dogmatic, Enneagram-literate community.” “Our mantra is “come as you are” and experience how this authenticity and bravery supports you in experiencing greater inner peace, wholeness, and belonging.” Inter-spiritual, international cohorts, applied enneagram wisdom, size & format details, themes all under “Details” below.

Simple Presence daily Zoom | Shalem Institute

Simple Presence is offered 365 days/year. This practice is open to all.  See below for the link and join when it’s time.

This is how I’ve seen it done these past 2 weeks I have joined – At the appointed start time (see below) there is a presenter who gives a 2-3 minute devotion/ reading/ poem/ song etc. Then immediately all participants go right into 20 minutes of shared silence. At the end of the 20 minutes, that day’s presenter will come back on and re-read a statement from what they shared and that’s it! People unmute to voice a ‘thank-you’ and then you go on your way! Qigong is a gentle body movement practice that you can choose to follow along on those days that it is provided right after Simple Presence. Check it out! I’ve found both to be helpful to me, which is why I am sharing it here with you (with permission).

Time: Simple Presence 6:30am CDT/ 7:30 am ET daily / Qigong 7:55 am M/W/F/Sat (following Simple Presence on this same link.)

Homelessness Awareness Day at the Texas Capitol | Texas Homeless Network (THN)

Live in Texas?? Online training on Thursday, March 6th, at 2 PM via Zoom for those registered to come to Austin on 12 March for H.A.D. (9:30am-4pm). Each legislative session (every 2 years), THN unites advocates from across the state to educate lawmakers on policies that make homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurring. Join over 100 advocates in speaking directly with legislators about real solutions to homelessness, from expanding affordable housing to strengthening crisis response systems. This is our chance to show the strength of our community, share stories, and influence policies that create lasting change. ****WHY DO I CARE ABOUT THIS? Our church, Impact Temple Church, opens as a warming shelter on nights when it drops below a certain windchill factor. This is wonderful but it’s not enough. Come and learn. Come and share your experience. For me, people we care about who are a part of our church are impacted by homelessness and I want to do what I can to help address these systems. Join me and we can learn and grow together!
