Even though I knew one of my invited guest speakers had already arrived the day before by train from Oklahoma City to speak at my ordination service, I still began to get discouraged. I received message after message of cancellation leading up to Sunday evening’s service due to bad weather, gas prices being high, and busyness from other (important) obligations. I began to wonder, is anyone going to come?
At the same time I was beginning to worry about all the people who were not coming, I did not know there were already several other people who were. Several people had already made the journey to Temple or were on their way to bear witness with me and us by travelling from different places like Houston, Fort Worth, and Austin. As my anxiety was growing, leading up to when I left the house at 4:20pm, I forgot about (and did not fully realize) the people who were laboring behind the scenes preparing the food, cleaning the church, decorating and buying gifts to make this time for me and for our church special.
Both situations were true – there were people who were not coming and there were people who were. I was excited about this time and also filled with anticipation about what it would be like and what this would mean to be ordained.
I carried a lot into this service. So much baggage and grief and other people’s stuff. (Some of it I share in my original Ordination of Sejana post.) It seemed so far away before but now I couldn’t believe the time was already here.

It feels too vulnerable to hope for more. To share what I’d like. To say out loud how I hoped this service of ordination would inspire something in others to take their next step of faith with God.
But I did share.
Several weeks ago, I shared it all with my pastor and my friend in ministry – Roy Rhodes.
And he heard me.

I realized on Sunday evening that he understood the assignment. ❤️
He and other leaders at Impact Temple Church.
Impact Temple Church, it’s now just a couple of days later that I am typing these words. I am so blessed by you! You really showed out. You’re making it so much harder for when I begin looking for a new church in our next location of Kentucky in just a few short weeks.
But let’s not focus on that now.
Let’s talk about ordination!
Welcome
This is for those of you who were not able to attend this service in person! I’m so glad you’re here!

Have you seen the other blog post yet, Ordination of Sejana?
I shared a blog post called “Ordination of Sejana” where I share several photos & a little about my journey to ordination leading to this moment. If you have not listened/read that yet, you can do that here.
Check it out!
