On this last Sunday of 2025, I share a few words of encouragement and hope which I found in the Old Testament Lectionary text Scriptures for the 1st Sunday After Christmas Day. As I thought about all that has happened in 2025, I found comfort in this passage to share with this audience at the end of this year. Hear my latest sermon preached on 28 December 2025 called “Recounting God’s Care For Us” from Isaiah 63:7-9. May it encourage you!
I preached this sermon for the Lutheran Sunset Ministries chapel service, located in Clifton, TX. This text was a part of the lectionary reading for Year A, the first Sunday after Christmas Day.
Scroll down below to watch a recording of the sermon, the Scripture, and my ‘After Sermon Preaching Tips‘ video where I’m keeping up my routine of sharing a few thoughts after I preach (right before I walk back into my home from my car!).
I am always hopeful that these offerings would bless and encourage you in your own journey with God and in your ministry of service to others. Feel free to reach out to me or leave a comment below, anytime. Blessings and peace!
Isaiah 63:7-9 RSVUE
7 I will recount the gracious deeds of the Lord,
the praiseworthy acts of the Lord,
because of all that the Lord has done for us
and the great favor to the house of Israel
that he has shown them according to his mercy,
according to the abundance of his steadfast love.
8 For he said, “Surely they are my people,
children who will not act deceitfully,”
and he became their savior
9 in all their distress.
It was no messenger or angel
but his presence that saved them;
in his love and pity it was he who redeemed them;
he lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.

Preaching Tips Background Video
In this video share, I talk about the Lutheran or liturgical tradition in which this chapel service is structured. My sermon is just one small part of the Sunday’s service. I also mention how I got connected to this particular ministry and what I kept in mind as I prepared my sermon and led the service on the last Sunday of 2025! May you be blessed!
Do share with me what resonates with you, in your particular roles of ministry (or however you’ve come to find this particular video)! Thanks!
