Call to collaborate! I’m looking for folks who want to collaborate on creating virtual content that is inspiring and helpful for the community. I’m talking about prayer. I’m talking about sharing how you show up in life, how you lean on your faith, how you thrive in times of change and transition. I’m looking for people who might be interested in doing something once or for a series. Let’s see what we can do together! Reach out! I share more below in recorded video but go ahead and email me now if you already know you want to talk!
I was on a bus trip recently. #rollingwithpurpose And someone told me that I use a lot of visuals and metaphors as I talked, especially with my hands, so I’m gonna give you what I told her as we were talking about change and transitions.
Imagine the beach. I’m talking about the crystal clear water beach, kind of like where my in-law lives in Emerald City Florida. Maybe all the parts of Florida have that kind of clear water. I’m talking about the water that’s just so clear that you can see right down to the bottom. This does not describe Texas water, but over there in Florida, that water. Imagine you’re in that crystal clear water. You’re walking along on the sand. And as you look down, you’ll see things come up, because you’re disturbing the sand. The water’s not calm anymore, things are happening. The water is now not as clear as it once was and now you can’t easily see down all the way to the bottom anymore. It takes a little more effort. Oh, but over time, that sand settles down and gets clear again. It will happen.
I know there’s a lot of wonderings right now about will it ever calm down enough so that things can settle?
We don’t know. No one really knows. There’s a lot of things that we don’t know, and there’s a lot of things that we can speculate about. However, I’m wondering how can we support one another in this time? In this season of transition. In this season of uncertainty where no one knows what the future may hold and what this transition might mean for our communities, our loved ones, and even our own souls.
Personally for me, not just for the nation, but personally I am also continuing to be in a season of transition. I did not realize how much of a structure being in school had for me, but now, that that’s complete and I’m continuing to work as a PRN hospital chaplain, (PRN means I work as needed, which means I don’t work on a routine schedule.) I don’t know for myself what the future may hold. What will I be doing next week? What will I be doing next month? I have no idea. So, I am with you in this, this season of transition is definitely real and personal for me.
What am I doing in this time?
I find myself doing certain things: I’m reaching out to others. Connecting, collaborating. I’m also noticing my creativity coming back up. I actually have time and space to do some things that I’ve been thinking about for a while. One of those things has been to do more collaborative experiences, live, with others.
For example, I’m thinking about prayer. What would it be like to have collaborative prayer with others in which we could come together virtually online, have a conversation together and/or pray together? My hope is that any content that I put out, the reason why I do what I do is that it would encourage whoever finds it that somehow while people are scrolling through their feeds, they come across this video or they come across one of my posts and they read it and recognize a part of themselves. They feel like, oh, I guess I’m not alone. I’m not the only one. May they be encouraged in their journey wherever they are in life and maybe even with God. May they keep going and continue to connect and grow. So that’s the general reason why I do the things that I do and put things out there for community and for connection.
But also, right now I want to be more visible in my collaboration as well. I’ve been collaborating and learning alongside others behind the scenes for quite a while. But now I’m trying to be more upfront about it and I want to do it with others. However, I recognize that not everybody’s interested in putting content out there online, but I really think that this is the way of the future. And I want to be a part of it. I mean technology is one way of reaching people. It’s a way to connect with others, so I use it as such.
If you’re interested in collaborating with me about I have shared let me know. Prayer is just one topic. Another is collaborating to talk about the mundane things that we do in our day-to-day lives or in our work. That’s also something I think that is worth lifting up. We can share how we show up in the world. How does our faith and how we live out our faith in our day-to-day lives come out in our world? These are all topics that interest me and I think would be helpful to others to hear. I’d love to hear about you and your story and how you do these things (pray, show up, live out your faith) in your everyday life.
If any of this resonates with you or have an idea you think I might be interested in, let me know because I probably am. Maybe I’ve thought of it but just haven’t shared it publicly yet. There are a lot of things that I’d like to do, and I’m looking for people who want to collaborate with me in this, perhaps for one time or for a season, who knows?
Lastly, I want to direct you to my website is called sejanashines.com. I have a lot of different ways that you can connect with me on there but I think the most important thing that I want to tell you about is the resources and events page. Click on that and see the ways that you can connect with others or the ways that you can equip yourself with information and resources on certain topics. That’s one of the things I have definitely been doing for probably all my life is trying to put people together with what that matter to them. So these offerings are events/topics that matter to me, events/topics that I’m involved in, or events that I’m leading. I’m doing a lot of other people’s/ other organization’s events/ideas but if it is open to the public- check it out, the details are there. Visit regularly and you’ll see what new offerings are there. I’m usually involved in a quite a lot since I like being connected to groups that are doing good work in the world and there is a lot of good work being done in the world- may we have eyes to see it and hands to support it! I want to share these things with you, especially if I’m going to be a part of it, too!
The other thing I want to say about sejanashines.com is, there are opportunities there for you to schedule a virtual coffee with me or book Spiritual Direction sessions with me. I do consider it a joy and privilege to walk with others in their spiritual journey so that’s why I included Spiritual Direction as a part of my learning and offerings to others. If that’s something that interests you, you want to know more about it, or you want to try it out then just go ahead and schedule a time that works for you. That’s why it’s there!
In summary…. if you’re interested in collaborating with me in any way, there’s lots of ways to do that. Lots of ways to continue to learn and grow and develop as a person with me. I think that we can’t do some things well alone. We grow better in good community because interaction with others can help us to see more of ourselves that maybe we didn’t know existed. Or it can help us strengthen our voice that we were not really using. (That’s me.) Good community can also help us to flourish into who we were created to be. I look forward to hearing from you and connecting with you soon.
Sincerely,
Sejana of SejanaShines
